This month’s topic: Setting Boundaries with Yourself in a Kinky World

Understanding your boundaries, especially when you’re stuck sheltering in place with other people or interacting through video conferencing, deciding when and how to interact with someone setting boundaries.

Attendee Questions:

1) Stormy: for people who grew up w/o boundaries, is there a way to learn what boundaries they “should” have realistically or are they pretty much SOL?
2) Stormy: what about people who use real power over others to violate boundaries? (real power = access to needed things, safety, resources…not just ability to inspire a feeling)
3) Ellia: how can submissives safeguard their boundaries while honoring their power exchange? This can be difficult sometimes, especially when the nature of someone is to put another first.
4) Learning: would you consider it “easily offended” if a coworker jokes someone is mentally ill?
5) Stormy: How do you respond when someone accuses you of crossing a boundary that is really a local/cultural norm or unspoken expectation?
6) Nikki: Any advice for people (usually fems) that are conditioned and expected to be more “polite” around setting boundaries?
7) Nikki: “how to set boundaries around entitlement?” perhaps is the question
8) Janet M.: What’s the best way to handle it when you are the one who has accidentally overstepped someone else’s boundary?
