The great outdoors…

The great outdoors…

You know what I’m bad at?

Getting outside every day.

I can get so focused on what I am doing, especially when I’m alone, that days can go by without me stepping foot out of doors.

And that’s self-abuse.

Or at least self-denial, even though it’s not intentional. Because being outside, for me, makes me a better person. I feel better with fresh air and sunshine. I feel more grounded, I have more energy, I do more. Just by taking a step outside the door.

It also, in some weird way, increases my libido.

It’s noticeable.

Being outside and being active makes me horny.

Which can be REALLY inconvenient. Like when we’re backpacking, and we are nowhere near bathrooms or showers for days, and I’m RARING to go… 😫

Really, the outdoors sings in me.

And it touches my primal parts and wakes them up.

And I need to honor that more in myself.

What about you?

Do you feel a connection to being outdoors? How does it affect you? What do you do to experience or take advantage of that connection?
