Where do I find other kinky people?
Everywhere!
Seriously. Some estimate that up to thirty percent of humans identify as potentially kinky in some way.
But, even if you think that number is WAY lower, maybe only five percent, that’s still one of every twenty people.
That’s a lot.
However, as I’m sure you know, it’s not as common to post about kink on social media or to talk about it over dinner as it is to have, say, green eyes (2% of the population), be left handed (10% of the population), or to golf (1% of the population).
Soooo, where do we find each other?
Well, nowadays, most of us find each other and connect with the community for the first time online.
Through people we meet on dating apps, through google searches, and through groups/pages on social media.
Here are a few places to start:

Once we find a person or space that makes us feel comfortable, we start exploring, asking questions, and getting to know others, often taking that step in person, or into a more public space first, with a munch or slosh.
From there, it’s often another step into play parties, socials, educational events, and more.
Of course, some prefer not to join the community, but to find people who share their interests and play in private. That’s OK, too.
Find YOUR comfort level, do your research, and have fun.

I met the person who first opened my eyes to kink in a poetry chat room.

I met my first play partner in my Southern Baptist Adult Sunday School class and my first Dominant while I was volunteering at a community radio station in Houston. One of my current boos I met almost 30 years ago at the guitar store he managed, and where I took guitar lessons!

I’ve met kinky friends at Cub Scouts, work, GISH… in fact I think I’ve met more kinky people in “vanilla” settings than I have in munches or through Fetlife.
