TRUE! Research has found, for instance, that those who self-report engaging in BDSM in romantic relationships—and particularly those who take the dominant role—self report as having lower neuroticism, decreased rejection sensitivity, and greater sexual satisfaction than controls.

Did you know that?

Here’s another: Shaving or waxing pubic hair can make you more susceptible to STIs. True or false?

TRUE! For several reasons.

One is that shaving causes micro-cuts to skin, leaving blood vessels exposed for the next 24 hours or so. Waxing also leaves your blood system more exposed for about 24 hours, since you’ve just ripped the hairs out by the roots.

Two: without a buffer of hair, skin-to-skin contact happens more easily, and the rubbing and friction creates a better environment for STI transmission, especially herpes and syphilis, which are not 100% blocked through condom use.
